What we do

We work closely with partners across all sectors of Jersey’s economy to support their development and diversification.

We also oversee Jersey Business to support new and established businesses. Using Locate Jersey we encourage inward investment, the relocation of appropriate business to Jersey and the relocation of high net worth individuals who will contribute economically and socially.

Our responsibilities include:

  • overseeing Visit Jersey to promote Jersey as a visitor destination
  • overseeing Ports of Jersey to operate and manage Jersey’s commercial port, marinas, harbours and airport
  • registering pleasure boats and commercial vessels through the British Registrar of Ships in Jersey
  • enforcing consumer protection laws and the provision of a comprehensive consumer and business advisory service
  • regulating functions across different sectors of the economy including retail, hospitality and gambling
  • the development and management of sport and leisure strategies
  • liaison with the trusts and voluntary organisations for the promotion of sport, arts and heritage
