What is a seed corn fund?
A seed corn fund is based on the principle that a relatively small investment at the beginning of a project will lead to bigger things.
The States Assembly agreed seed corn funding for various community safety initiatives in 2000.
Some innovative and successful approaches to community safety have already been supported and these are now becoming part of the mainstream service.
Who can apply
Anyone can apply for the fund, but you have to meet the aims and objectives of BaSS and you should try all avenues of possible funding before submitting an application.

How much is available?
Applications for funding are available up to £120,000 and the funding can be for up to three years until 2019. Preference will be given to smaller scale funding.
Some initiatives funded so far
The following successful initiatives have received funding so far:
- Prison! Me! No Way!!
- Victim Support
- Q-Safe taxi marshals
- Restorative Justice
- ADAPT- Domestic Violence Perpetrators programme
- Community Football
