This privacy notice explains how your personal data is handled when you submit feedback through the Customer Feedback Management System (CFMS), which includes:
- complaints
- compliments
- suggestions
- comments
Who is responsible for your data
Employment Social Security and Housing (ESSH) acts as a Processor on behalf of other Government departments.
The relevant department receiving your feedback is the Controller and responsible for how your data is used.
How we use your data
Your feedback is forwarded by ESSH to the relevant department, who will contact you directly.
If you don’t want your feedback forwarded, you can let us know when submitting it.
Consent to process
By entering your feedback into CFMS, you are giving consent for it to be processed.
If you’re submitting feedback on behalf of someone else, we’ll seek their consent before further processing.

Access and security
Access to your information is restricted to staff who need it to manage and respond to your feedback.
Data retention
Your data is kept in a form which identifies you for up to 12 months.
After 12 months, it’s retained for up to another 12 months in a non-searchable format. After a further 12 months it is deleted.
Children, Young People, Education and Skills (CYPES) data is retained permanently in an identifiable and searchable format due to legal and regulatory requirements.
Use of anonymised data
We use anonymised feedback data to monitor performance and improve services.
This data is published on Gov.je.
Safeguarding concerns
If your feedback raises safeguarding concerns, we’re obliged to act and may share your information with appropriate services.
