Please could you provide me with the following information:

At Haute Vallee school;

A

At present how many students are being monitored by the Education Welfare Officer for attendance / punctuality?

B

Of these students how many parents / carers from Haute Vallee school have received requests to attend Attendance Panel meetings?

C

How long is data held on a student including emails / written correspondence and self-registering information?

D

Over the last two school years what is the average attendance for Haute Vallee school?

E

Over the past two school years how many students have 'gone off premises' during school hours?

F

Over the past two school years how many students have been released to go home to collect equipment / kit during school hours?

G

As a parent what are my rights to receive all data relating to my child and how do I request this information?

A

22 students are being monitored by the Education Welfare Officer for attendance and punctuality.

B

Five parents / carers with students at Haute Vallee have received requests to attend Attendance Panel hearings at the Education Department.

C

A student record is held for 25 years from the date of birth of the student. The information contained within this record includes some correspondence between outside agencies and parents and the school. However, the information held on the student must be relevant and pertinent and not all information relating to a student is retained.

Self-registering information is held for two years.

It is not possible to record the number of students that go off the school site as it is not authorised and, therefore, unknown. The information is not held.

Haute Vallee School require all students to sign out when they leave the school site during school hours.

Please note that the data above represents all students that have signed out to leave school premises. The reasons for leaving the school site include visits to doctors, dentists, returning home to collect forgotten kits or equipment or workbooks. 

The Education Department has determined that to provide data relating only to collecting equipment / kit is exempt under Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011, as it is estimated that it will take in excess of 12.5 hours to collate the information.

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed any fee of an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations for the purposes of Article 15.
