All employees of the States of Jersey Police force have access to medical, dental and ophthalmic and related benefits in accord with the Police service arrangements.

What was the total cost of these benefits to the States of Jersey for the years 2012 – 2013 – 2014 and 2015?

Is there any limit to the amount one employee can claim in medical, dental and ophthalmic and related benefits any one year?

Not all employees of the States of Jersey Police have access to the benefits mentioned above. Only police officers who were recruited prior to 2012 receive these benefits.

The below is a breakdown, by year, of the costs of police officers medical, dental and ophthalmic benefit claimed:

Those who are entitled can claim a maximum dental allowance of £700 per annum. They can also claim towards optician costs, the cost of the eye test and £85.00 towards the cost of new glasses (this is with a new prescription only). They can also claim for general doctor visits.
