I would like to know how the States allocates funds to secondary education.

In turn I would like to know the amount given by the States to state secondary schools (per student). 

In addition, it would be helpful if a distinction is made between funding given to KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (if there is one).

The funding is calculated using the Age Weighted Pupil Unit (AWPU) formula, which is based on the number of pupils at September each year, plus a fixed element to cover school overhead costs e.g. premises and Special Educational Needs (SEN) support. The AWPU is the main variable element of funding and covers costs of leadership, teaching, special needs, support staff, resources, support services, and the costs of running and maintaining the premises.

The Education Department provides both Jersey College for Girls (JCG) and Victoria College with an annual budget, the equivalent of 50% of what a non-fee paying 11-16 secondary school would receive for pupils of the same age. Fees are charged by both Colleges to supplement the budget provided by the department. These fees are set by the school governing body each year and approved by the Minister for Education. No funding to support SEN provision is provided to JCG and Victoria College.

The grant provided to private schools, is calculated at 50% and 25% of AWPU* x the number of pupils for secondary and primary schools respectively.
