Response

Details of whether purchasers of Public land are “private developers” is not held, as it is not deemed to be relevant information.

We refer you to a previous Freedom of Information request, which was for details of “properties sold by the States of Jersey since 2011”, which can be found at the following link:

A list of the properties sold by the States of Jersey since 2011 (FOI)

The report, that forms part of the response, only shows the names of acquiring companies, and does not record whether each particular company is a private developer. Details of individuals involved in the property acquisitions are withheld, as absolutely exempt information under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

Copies of all sale contracts of Public properties can be found in the Public Registry. The “Public Registry Index and Document Enrolment” (PRIDE) online system can be accessed either at the Judicial Greffe Public Registry, in the basement of the States Building, or at the Jersey Archive.
