Could you list the number of exclusion from schools in Jersey over the past three years as well as the reasons for the exclusion.

The number of instances of exclusions in primary schools is outlined below:

Due to the small numbers represented above, the Education Department have determined that providing a breakdown by primary school would likely breach the privacy of the individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law (the Law) has been applied. 

The number of instances of exclusions in secondary schools is outlined below:

The Education Department have determined that revealing the actual figure when there is less than five would likely breach the privacy of the individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Law has been applied.

Exemption applied

Article 25 Personal Information

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
