How many domestic emergencies have you responded to in the past year which have been caused by an electrical fire?

How many domestic emergencies have you responded to in which a gas leak has been reported?

How many domestic emergencies have you responded to that have been caused by a faulty gas appliance?

Response

The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS) are unable to answer the specific questions due to the format of their incident reports and the information held. However they are able to provide the following information for domestic dwellings:

​Number of electrical fires​4
​Number of fires from faulty equipment or appliance7​
​Number of gas fires​3
​Number of gas leak / odour incidents​6
​Number of fuel spill / fuel odour / odour (strange / unknown)​13

The above figures are for the past year.
