What percentage of the Islands tenants are covered by this contract?

How many of these are in the private sector and how many in the social housing sector?

What measures have been taken by the States to check how many tenants are protected by this standard contract?

A to C

This information is not held by the Scheduled Public Authority. The Government of Jersey provides a standard contract for rental properties, which landlords are able to use as a model of good practice. However, it is not incumbent upon landlords to use this contract and many choose to use their own tenancy agreements.

The Government is not taking active steps to check how many tenants are protected by this contract. However, as part of its work to improve standards in the rented sector, Environmental Health provides advice and guidance to landlords and tenants about the compliance of their tenancy agreements with the requirements of relevant legislation, including the Residential Tenancy (Jersey) Law 2011; the Public Health and Safety (Rented Dwellings) (Jersey) Law 2018 and the Consumer Protection (Unfair Practices) (Jersey) Law 2018.
