Please provide the report and meeting minutes in respect of the decision to relocate bus stop (2464) Jersey Club S.

Response

The Transport section of Growth, Housing and Environment (GHE) hold monthly Panel meetings to discuss various matters relating to bus stops but do not usually create formal meeting minutes or prepare official reports. There is therefore no report regarding the proposed relocation of bus stop 2464 (Rugby Club S).

The Panel do however record actions in the form of informal notes and bulleted lists showing items agreed or actions that need to be undertaken. They also keep copies of correspondence relating to matters arising. The list below is a combination of the time line of events and extracts from the notes and bulleted lists:

  • in early 2018 GHE received feedback from the public highlighting potential safety issues regarding the location of bus stop 2464.

  • in April 2018 the Panel agreed to consult with the public by way of posting an on-street notice regarding the possibility of relocating bus stop 2464 by merging it with 2565 (Rue Cappelain S) due to their close proximity.

  • it then became apparent that the on-site notice itself would also cause a potential safety concern since the sign would intrude into the carriageway. It was therefore decided to carry out a targeted consultation via letter drop to dwellings in the vicinity.

  • the Panel reviewed the feedback from correspondents in February 2019 and agreed to move forward with the proposed bus stop merger. A site visit was carried out to establish whether any road markings would need to be changed.

  • the design of the road marks were finalised in the July 2019 Panel meeting.

  • the Constable of St Peter confirmed the Parishes’ support to relocate the bus stop at a meeting held with GHE officers in August 2019.

  • the GHE Road Signs and Markings team were instructed to implement the changes in late September, with letters being sent to the Constable and correspondents to confirm the imminent relocation of the bus stop.
