Request

I would like to know how many people in total currently reside in States of Jersey owned Social Housing.

I would also like to know how many new Andium and Jersey Trust Housing projects have been specifically signed off by Senator Sam Mezec as Housing Minister since he took up the role in June 2018?

Response

Andium Homes, as the Government-owned social housing provider, administers all social housing tenancies that are in public ownership. Andium Homes records the details of the tenant(s) for each of its properties as well the household members as they are declared by the tenant. The total number will also vary as individual circumstances change. It is estimated that Andium Homes accommodates approximately 10,000 people.

The Minister for Children and Housing does not sign-off Andium Homes, Jersey Homes Trust or any other housing trust project.
The Minister for Treasury and Resources, as the Guarantor of Andium Homes, approves Andium Homes’ projects. The Minister for Children and Housing is consulted on projects before they are signed-off.

The Jersey Homes Trust is an independent housing trust. The Minister does not, therefore, approve the Trust’s projects. The Minister does, however, maintain regular dialogue with the Trust on matters relating to new housing projects.

Some of the information you have requested may be held by Andium Homes, who are a Scheduled Public Authority for the purposes of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.
