Request

Baring in mind that we are currently seeing basic one bedroom Flats advertised at over £300,000.00, which would require not only large deposits but a Salary in excess of £50,000.00 per annum.

From the latest available data, what is the current average Salary in Jersey for a single person?

I would also like to know at what rate the average Salary has risen over the past 5 years compared to the Property Inflation index?

Response

In June 2020, mean average earnings for a full-time equivalent (FTE) worker was £780 per week (excluding bonuses).  Median average earnings was estimated at £610 per week for a full-time equivalent worker in June 2020.

For more information please see the June 2020 Index of Average Earnings report:
June 2020 Index of Average Earnings report

Over the last 5 years (from June 2015 to June 2020) average earnings for a full-time equivalent worker have increased by 12.5%. Over the same time period, the Jersey House Price index has increased by 31.8%.
