Funding of the new Skatepark (FOI)

Funding of the new Skatepark (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 30 December 2020.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

An article in the JEP in November 2019 indicated that:

Deputy Suzie Pinel said funding of £785,000 had been allocated for the Skatepark facility in the Government Plan; Ports of Jersey had promised £75,000 and £425,000 was coming from Jersey Development Company dividends.

Ms Pinel indicated that the funding needed to be approved at the next meeting of the regeneration steering group, and then would be made available.

How much of this money was approved and made available? What is the exact status of this funding now?

Response

In total, £1.285m was allocated to the Skatepark project, including £785,000 allocated in the 2020 Government Plan and as agreed by the Regeneration Steering Group, and contributions from Ports of Jersey and States of Jersey Development Company of £75,000 and £425,000.

The funding remains available for the project.
