Could I request the following information please:
How many GPs are currently practicing in Jersey?
How many doctors are employed by HCS (broken down by Consultant, Non- consultant career grade, Trainee / Junior Doctor)?
How many doctors not in A or B above are practicing in Jersey (eg solely in private practice, or working in the third sector, for example the Hospice)?
As at 24 September 2021, there are 118 GPs approved on The Performers List. 103 of these are currently practising within general practice.
With regards to the 15 GPs approved on the performers list but who are not currently practising within general practice, this may be because they are working in more specialist roles such as sports medicine, have recently retired or are currently seeking employment within general practice. Further information on the duration of inclusion on the performers list can be found in the Health Insurance (Performers List for General Medical Practitioners) (Jersey) Regulations 2014.
