There have been 632 complaint investigations conducted by the States of Jersey Police Professional Standards Department in the last ten years for a variety of reasons; on average 63 per annum.

In order to be able to answer the request in full would require a manual search of each record. We have estimated that, on average, four minutes will be required to examine each one, which would equate to around 42 hours of work. This would exceed the 12½ hours maximum time limit as provided by Article 16(1) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011, and the request is declined.

We are however able to direct the applicant to certain relevant statistics that are already available in Annual Reports of the requested period and reports of the Jersey Police Complaints Authority (JPCA).
