Can you please tell me who has the contract for supplying LFT kits to Jersey?

Response

There is no contract to supply Lateral Flow Test (LFT) kits to the Government of Jersey. All LFT’s used on-island have been provided by the UK Department for Health & Social Care (DHSC).

In December 2021, as a contingency measure, the Government purchased a small order of LFT’s following an open competitive process. Details of the award remain commercially sensitive and confidential therefore Article 33 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Information is qualified exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or

(b)      its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).

Public Interest Test

Whilst it is accepted that the public may have an interest in the details of Government of Jersey purchases, it is believed the exact details are commercially sensitive and that the release of this data could affect the negotiation of future purchases.
