Request

A

How many qualified driving examiners are employed by the Government of Jersey?

B

What categories are they qualified in?

C

Are their qualifications still current?

D

Do all driving tests comply with the law setting down what is required during the driving tests?

Response

A to C

For the purpose of this Freedom of Information request, we have assumed that you mean driving examiners appointed by the Inspector of Motor Traffic for Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS).

There are five qualified driving examiners, who cover all categories of vehicles.  Their qualifications are periodically assessed by an independent assessor to ensure they remain current.

D

Information relating to whether the tests comply with the law is not held and therefore Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article applied

Article 10  - Obligation of scheduled public authority to confirm or deny holding information

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), if –

(a) a person makes a request for information to a scheduled public authority; and

(b) the authority does not hold the information, it must inform the applicant accordingly.
