Reports of Road Traffic Collisions and traffic offences received from the public are initially recorded on the police incident log system. To extract the information requested would require a manual search of several thousand logs. This would take significantly longer than12½ hours which is the time limit as prescribed by Article 16(1) of the Freedom of Information Law, and therefore such response is declined. The below table shows the number of recorded traffic offences (those where there is sufficient evidence or justification for a formal investigation). Please note that the first row includes all categories of motor vehicle. To extract just car driver information would require a manual search of each record. Again, this would take significantly longer than 12½ hours and therefore such response is declined.
