I would like to get a breakdown of the male/female %age split in Jersey for teachers in:

Primary schools.

Secondary schools.

It would also be good if the answer could include some historic data for context, with the same splits from 2012 and 2017 (or other years from this period depending on whether this is measured annually).

Please could the answer make clear whether the statIstics are for all island schools, or just for government schools. Would hope to get data for all schools if this is available.

Please see Table 1 below.

Please see Table 2 below.

To collect and collate the requested headcount data prior to 2016 would involve searching through a number of individual files. It is estimated that to conduct such a review would exceed the timescales prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

The data provided is related to all Government of Jersey schools and includes the primary and secondary provisions of Jersey College for Girls and Victoria College. The Government of Jersey does not hold data related to teachers in the island's private schools. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
