Minister Kirsten Morel recently said at a Chamber Lunch:

"Between now and 2040, we need each worker to produce at least 7.5% more value in real terms. The further we are away from this productivity growth of at least 7.5%, the more population growth that will be required. Our challenge is to get as close to that minimum 7.5% as possible."

Please providce details of the quantitative measures in place to calculate numeric values to productivity within the public sector in the Minister's own department, and what (by this measure) the current average productivity is per member of staff (public sector worker).

Please state if no measures are in place.

Productivity is measured as Gross Value Added per full-time equivalent employee (GVA/FTE). Statistics Jersey produces estimates of GVA/FTE, the latest available data is for 2021 and is published on Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has therefore been applied. This information is broken down by sector and includes data for the public administration sector.  More detailed breakdowns are not held.
