Bel Royal Primary School:  how many excursions or out-of-school activities for children with disabilities versus children without?

How many off island trips for children at Bel Royal School against other primary schools for all children?

Bel Royal School offered a total of 43 different excursions and out-of-school activities during the 2015 to 2016 academic year.

Some of these activities were restricted to specific year groups within the school.

Repeated activities which took place on more than one date, eg trips to Durrell Wildlife Park or Gorey Castle, have been counted as a single activity for the purposes of answering this request.

Bel Royal School’s provision includes an Additional Resource Centre (ARC) for pupils who have a Record of Need (RON) on account of specific medical, speech and language, learning or physical needs.

Pupils with special educational needs (SEN) who do not have a RON are often invited to participate in activities offered to ARC pupils.

Of the 43 different activities offered by Bel Royal school during the year:

  • 37 were offered to all pupils
  • 5 were offered to ARC and SEN pupils only
  • 1 was offered to non-ARC and non-SEN pupils only

Bel Royal School has not taken any off-island trips during the 2015 to 16 academic year, therefore the comparison requested cannot be provided.

However, details of all school trips taken by Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils from Jersey primary schools have recently been released in response to an FOI request.
