Is it either legal or States policy for anyone to be employed by the Government of Jersey on 'licensed status' to be redeployed elsewhere into a job not relating to their license? For example, could a teacher or Educational Psychologist be deployed to carry out another job is they were here on licence?

If it is not legal or States policy, how long before they must leave Jersey under these conditions?

Response

It is a requirement under the Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 2012, for employees to hold residential status as outlined on gov.je.

In order to be employed in a specific role from off Island, permission to appoint to a licensed role is required under the Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 2012. In the event of redeployment to another role on a permanent basis, a license would be required for this new role.

If a person ceases to have licensed status and is occupying ‘Qualified’ property, under the Control of Housing and Work Law they would have a minimum of 3 months to vacate the property from the date their licensed employment ceased.
