Further to FOI Request 695786796 giving details of how many individuals have been referred from the General Hospital to a care home in the last 18 months, can you please provide the names of the care homes receiving these individuals?
Response
It is not possible to record a named care home facility as place of discharge in the ‘Discharge Destination’ field of the Electronic Patient Record. Whilst such information would be documented in individual medical records, no central record is available to report from.
Manual review of individual medical notes for all discharges in scope would be required to identify the specific discharge location information in each case, and involve the creation of new datasets. A Scheduled Public Authority is not required to create or manipulate data in order to respond to Freedom of Information requests. Furthermore, the resource required to perform such manual interrogation and record creation exceeds that prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Therefore, Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.
Article applied
Article 16 - A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive
(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
