Given the recent ban on the public importing various meat item to jersey from the EU.
Can the government explain that within a week of this ban being introduced on individuals, they allow the Norman Market in as well as other businesses importing the same goods that individuals are banned from importing.
The decision seems totally illogical, in that Foot and Mouth could arrive in these commercial consignments?
I also understand that some of these consignments can be traced?? That in itself will not help the Jersey herd if it becomes infected.
I am 100% in favour of protecting the herd but if a ban is needed it should be across the board if the risk is so great?
Response
The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 gives a right to request information that is held in recorded form, unless exempt.
The request poses a question rather than seeking information held in a recorded form. Therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
