Request 732363037

Dear FOI Team,

I am writing on behalf of the charity, MAMA Academy, to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information act 2000.

I would like to request the following data:

The total number of live births recorded at your trust for the year 2024.

The total number of stillbirths recorded at your trust for the year 2024.

(Stillbirths as defined by the Office for National Statistics: a baby born after 24 weeks of pregnancy showing no signs of life.)

The total number of neonatal deaths recorded at your trust for the year 2024.

(Neonatal deaths as defined by the Office for National Statistics: The death of a liveborn baby within the first 28 days of life.)

If possible could you please provide this information in spreadsheet format for clarity and ease of use. If any part of the data is not available, please indicate this in your response.

I look forward to your response within the statutory 20 working days, as outlined by the Act.

If any part of this request is unclear or you require further clarification to process it, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Yours sincerely,

Response

The total number of live births and stillbirths for 2024 are publicly available in the SIR Annual Statement 2024.pdf. Therefore Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

There were no neonatal deaths in Jersey in 2024.

Article applied

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
