Response

A

The number of items identified as missing is shown in the table below:

The Education Department is unable to provide information relating to whether the items were replaced, and if so, the cost. This information is exempt under Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011, as it is estimated that it will take in excess of 12.5 hours to collect the information.

When items are discovered to be missing from stock, they are identified as such on the library management system. Suggestions for replacing the items can come from library staff or library users, and items may or may not be replaced depending on availability, demand and whether the library holds duplicate items in stock.

All decisions on library acquisitions are based on the Jersey Library Collection Development Policy.

(1)  A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed any fee of an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations for the purposes of Article 15.
