Please could you tell me how many items have gone missing from Jersey Public Library between 2013 and 1 August 2016?
Could you please breakdown the information to list the items that have gone missing for 2013, 2014 and 2015 and include details of the item eg the title of the book that has gone missing, whether it was replaced and if so how much it cost?
Could you please also list the items that have gone missing in 2016 up until 1 August?
The number of items identified as missing is shown in the table below:
|2013|| 191|| 57|
|2014|| 179|| 28|
|2015|| 127|| 33|
|2016|| 133|| 70|

The Education Department is unable to provide information relating to whether the items were replaced, and if so, the cost. This information is exempt under Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011, as it is estimated that it will take in excess of 12.5 hours to collect the information.
When items are discovered to be missing from stock, they are identified as such on the library management system. Suggestions for replacing the items can come from library staff or library users, and items may or may not be replaced depending on availability, demand and whether the library holds duplicate items in stock.
All decisions on library acquisitions are based on the Jersey Library Collection Development Policy.
Article 16: A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive:
(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed any fee of an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations for the purposes of Article 15.
