COVID-19 and the production of official statistics in Jersey
The developing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in Jersey has led the Chief Statistician to recommend to the Statistics Users Group (SUG) that conditional arrangements be introduced for the release of statistical reports produced by Statistics Jersey.
Guided by the three pillars of the Code of Practice for Statistics (Trustworthiness, Quality and Value), and based on statistical and operational matters (particularly running business and household surveys over the coming weeks and months) SUG have agreed to the recommendations of the Chief Statistician.
Two categories of modification have been incorporated into the updated release schedule of Statistics Jersey: postponed; and provisional. Releases characterised as being postponed will remain under review until further notice on a case by case basis. All other releases are now characterised as provisional and will remain scheduled for the original release date; these releases will also remain under review on a case by case basis.
Any further changes, including confirmation of releases now characterised as being provisional, will be announced on this webpage at least one week in advance of implementation.
