Summary

​​The PECRS 2013 annual report outlines the activities of the pension scheme over the last year. The report highlights that:

  • ​during the year the investments of the scheme increased by £220 million to be valued at £1.59 billion at the end of the year
  • the fund achieved an investment return of 18% over the year outperforming its benchmark by 5.4%
  • scheme membership continued to grow partly as a result of increasing longevity and by the end of 2013 the scheme had 13,1991 members, of which 53% were active members, 29% pensioners and 18% deferred members
  • during the year there has been an increased use of the PECRS website with over 5,200 hits
  • the changes that are being made to the scheme through the ongoing pension review
