Summary

In a five-week period from Monday 11 December 2017 to Friday 12 January 2018, the public of Jersey were asked to give their views about a new proposal for funding higher education.

The Treasury Minister, Senator Alan MacLean, announced the plan in his Budget speech on Tuesday 28 November 2017. He proposed that significant additional funding be made available through the existing student grant scheme so that more students from Jersey can afford to go to university in future.
