Summary

​​Changes in the number and type of ferry operators in 2007 and with Service Level Agreements due to expire, the relevant Ministers produced a joint statement which lays down the overall oversight of ferry services for the Channel Islands up until 2013. This provided a clear framework under which the public could continue to have reasonable certainty as to the provision of adequate and reliable services.
