Summary
The Social Security Minister directed the Employment Forum to consult on the collective redundancy consultation provisions, as set out in the Employment (Amendment No. 5) (Jersey) Law 200- (which has now been enacted).
This consultation considered:
- the appropriateness of the reduction in the number of proposed redundancies that would trigger the requirement for an employer to consult with staff representatives in collective redundancy situations; and
- whether the collective consultation procedures and penalties should be refined in accordance with that reduced threshold.
