Summary

This publication reports on data brought together from the H&SS Preventatives Team, child health information system; the hospital information system; and the GP server. The records consist of anonymised records for all children born, resident or treated in Jersey in 2019. 

This release covers data which has been recorded at birth, and also provides a compilation of data on breastfeeding practices. 

Topics covered include: births and crude birth rate, over time; fertility rates (general, total, age-specific), over time; age of mothers, including teenage mothers; caesarean sections; birth weight; breastfeeding patterns (at discharge; at 6-8 weeks; at 9-12 months) and infant mortality
