​This paper provides a brief overview of some key messages from UK and international evidence on what an optimal early childhood education and childcare (ECEC) offer looks like for children’s wellbeing and development. It focuses on areas where ‘big picture’ questions and choices have been identified by the Isos Partnership relating to the why, what, when, where, who, and how of ECEC in Jersey.
