Summary

The purpose of this brief is to: 

  • establish the general planning principles for the development of the Jersey Gas site in Tunnell Street, St Helier 
  • reflect the requirements of an adopted States Proposition (P.114/2017) that required an extension to Millennium Town Park, the provision of affordable homes and car parking to serve residents and shoppers
  • replace the previous Development Brief for the Jersey Gas site, (September 2013)

This revised guidance was adopted, following public consultation, in July 2019. The new guidance will provide the framework for the assessment and determination of any subsequent planning application for the redevelopment of the site.
