Summary
The July 2012 report shows that:
- on a seasonally adjusted basis, the total number of people registered as unemployed and actively seeking work (ASW) in Jersey was 10 lower than a month earlier (June 2012) and 20 lower than the average for the preceding three months
- the non-seasonally adjusted ASW total was 1,740. This latest monthly total is 20 higher than a month earlier (June 2012) and 390 higher than that of a year earlier (July 2011). It is 500 higher than that of two years earlier (July 2010)
- long-term unemployment (registered for more than 52 weeks) now accounted for a sixth of total ASW
- 330 teenagers aged 16-19 years were registered as ASW, some 50 higher than a month earlier. 140 teenagers were on the Advance to Work scheme
