Report Title: Public Inquiry: PP/2021/1969 – South West St. Helier Waterfront

Decision(s):

The Minister decided to appoint Mr. P. Staddon, BSc, Dip, MBA (Distinction), MRTPI, as the Inspector in respect of the Public Inquiry into the South West St. Helier Waterfront redevelopment planning application (PP/2021/1969 refers) and set the following terms of reference for the Inspector -   a. The production and public announcement of a timetable, adhering to the requirements of the Planning and Building (Public Inquiries) (Jersey) Order 2008, as soon as is reasonably practical.  b. The consideration of the planning application under the policies of the Bridging Island Plan (2022).  c. The delivery of a written report, summarising the planning issues and containing a recommendation for a decision on the application, by 30 June 2023.

Reason for Decision(s):

The Minister is required, under Article 3 of the Planning and Building (Public Inquiries) (Jersey) Order 2008 ('the Order') to appoint an inspector to conduct the Public Inquiry and under Article 4 (1) of the Order, to set terms of reference for the inspector.

Resource Implications: The cost of the inquiry will be met within existing budgets.
