Our team can assess and diagnose adults who think they may have ADHD or autism.

We help you understand your experiences and needs through clear assessments, diagnosis and follow‑up support.

The service focuses on:

• diagnosing, adjusting and prescribing medication for ADHD
• diagnosing autism with clear signposting to the right support

We aim to:

• provide clear and accurate ADHD and autism assessments
• offer safe and effective ADHD medication support
• help you understand your diagnosis and treatment options
• signpost you to community and specialist support when needed
• work closely with GPs and mental health teams to keep your care joined up

Our focus is on helping you feel informed, confident and supported to access the right help.

How to access the service

To access this service, speak to your GP or Autism Jersey who can refer you.

They will:

• talk with you about your concerns
• rule out other possible causes
• refer you if appropriate

Once you’re referred, your information is reviewed and sent to the ADHD and Autism Diagnostic Service if you need a specialist assessment. They’ll contact you directly to make an appointment and discuss next steps.

Waiting times for assessments vary, you may have to wait several months or years.

You can choose to pay for a private assessment. You’ll need to find a clinic yourself and pay for all costs, including any ongoing medication.

What we help with

We can help you with:

• ADHD assessments carried out by trained clinicians
• adjusting and safely monitoring ADHD medication
• ongoing ADHD prescriptions, working with your GP once your medication is stable
• autism assessments that follow national best‑practice guidance
• signposting for autism, including community support, education and social care

We work closely with other health, education and social care services to make sure you get the right care after your diagnosis.
