Waiting lists: outpatient

What is the outpatient waiting list?

The 'outpatient waiting list' is a list of our patients currently waiting to be seen in one of our outpatient clinics.

What happens in an outpatient appointment?

In the first outpatient appointment (called a new appointment), one of our clinicians will assess the patient and make a clinical decision on the level of care and/or intervention required.

Current outpatient waiting list status

The data below shows the current outpatient waiting list position which is updated each month.

Referrals

The chart below shows the number of referrals received each month for the last six months.

Outpatient appointments

Our outpatient clinics run every working day across multiple locations and specialties.

Do tell us if you cannot attend

  • Missed appointments take up valuable slots that could be used for other patients and cause delays for all patients on the waiting list.

  • If you cannot attend your appointment with us, it is important to let us know via the phone number on your appointment letter. Your appointment slot can then be re-allocated to another patient waiting.

The chart below shows the number of appointments attended and missed each month for the last six months.

Use the dropdown menu to select a specialty. The default selection is all specialties.

Median wait for first (new) appointment

The best way to understand the time one of our patients is likely to wait is to look at the median time our patients have waited.

This number shows the median time (in weeks) patients that were seen for the first time, had waited before their appointment. This number can fluctuate depending on demand.

Use the dropdown menu to select a specialty. The default selection is all specialties.

Exclusions

Whilst recognising the importance of sharing information to provide transparency to the population of Jersey, some patient activity is excluded from this dataset:

  • Assisted reproduction and in vitro fertilisation (IVF)
  • Sexually transmitted diseases (STD)
  • Termination of pregnancy

We have now separated some of our diagnostic test data from the outpatient data
