Brown crab migration study

​About the study

The brown crab migration study is part of a study being run by the Marine Resources department.

The aim of this study is to map the movement of soft shell brown crab after mating and to determine were they migrate to within Jersey waters.

Complete the survey

If you catch a tagged brown crab, you can complete our survey. We need to know:

  • date of capture
  • tag number
  • latitude and longitude position
  • sex
  • size
  • if the crab was released or landed
  • contact details
