Hidden Disabilities Sunflower events

Come and join us on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September 2023 between 11am and 3pm for a series of events to celebrate being a hidden disabilities sunflower friendly Island.

You can find us at Charing Cross, St Helier in front of the Santander Work Cafe.

Events will include:

art competition
face painting
inclusive art
scavenger hunt

About the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a discreet tool to signal to others that the wearer has a hidden disability and may need some help, extra time, patience and understanding.

It helps those with disabilities that are not immediately obvious, such as:

autism
dyslexia
chronic pain
dementia
anxiety
visual impairments
hearing impairments

You can support someone with a hidden disability by:

asking if you can help
having patience
being kind
not judging
listening closely
showing respect

Our aim is to help make the invisible, visible. We encourage you to wear the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to show people that you need additional support, help or a little more time.
