You can learn how to use a computer or develop your skills for free using
Learn My Way.
Learn My Way is an online learning programme to develop digital skills on a variety of devices. It’s designed for beginners and those who have limited experience with computers, tablets or smartphones. It can also help you build confidence in using the internet.
You’ll learn:
- basic computer skills, such as using a touchscreen, mouse and keyboard
- everyday digital tasks, like email, online safety, video calls, banking and job searching
- practical skills, such as booking health appointments or finding work online
Modules are 5 to 10 minutes. Content is easy-to-use and includes clear language and features like text-to-speech.
You can use Learn My Way at the library for free or from home with your library membership.
Help with Learn My Way
We offer free support to anyone using Learn My Way at the Town Library every:
- Tuesday 6pm to 7pm
- Thursday 10am to 11am
Sessions take place in the computer room on the first floor You can come to as many sessions as you need but you have to book in advance.
Practice for your driving theory test
We offer free access to
Theory Test Pro which is a realistic online programme to help you prepare for the UK driving theory test.
It includes:
- all official DVSA questions
- hazard perception videos
- the Highway Code
- practice tests for cars, motorcycles, lorries and buses
Theory Test Pro provides support for over 40 languages and speech-enabled options for accessibility.

Britannica is a trusted online encyclopaedia for children, teens and adults.
It includes:

Oxford Reference is a free online resource for library members.
It gives access to over 175 trusted titles, including dictionaries, encyclopaedias and Oxford Companions.
It covers subjects such as:

- literature

- social sciences
- the arts
