Exhibition of John Ogilby's Aesop's Fables
This exhibition presents remarkable illustrations from John Ogilby's celebrated editions of Aesop's Fables published in 1651 and 1668.
These volumes transformed the familiar moral tales from Ancient Greece into a masterpiece of 17th century English printing. Both of these editions are preserved in the Falle Collection at Jersey Library and their finely detailed copperplate engravings form the heart of this display.
The exhibition is currently taking place at the Town Library at the second floor gallery.
