Atlantic Express Plans for 2007

29 August 2006

Stansted – Jersey Schedule For Next Summer

Following the successful introduction of its twice daily air service between London Stansted and Jersey at the end of May Atlantic Express has confirmed that it intends to introduce a third rotation for summer 2007.

“We have been delighted with the response to the new service”, said Mike Collett, chairman of the airline and a Jersey resident. “It is working well in both directions, serving business people and holidaymakers travelling to the island, and for people from Jersey having a requirement to go to the mainland, and also onwards. Besides it excellent location for London and East Anglia Stansted is now one of the best connecting airports in Europe, particularly for low cost flights. We are also putting passengers on to the new business class only operations to the United States”.

Mr Collect explained that (subject to negotiations with BAA) the airline planned next summer to leave Jersey slightly earlier in the morning and finally arrive back 30 minutes later than the present timetable.

“With this new schedule it will enable people from the Channel Islands to make a more relaxed connection to their onward flight, or perhaps get to London earlier and if on a day return to have more time. This question of enough time is also very relevant for day visitors to Jersey. The midday flight gives us more capacity and more flexibility for our passengers. Eventually we would like to go up to four times daily, frequency being what is undoubtedly required”.

Mr Collett confirmed the schedule for the winter months. “The present twice daily operation will continue until the end of March. Over the end of year holidays we will be dropping flights and possibly adding others. Already some sectors are virtually fully booked and we would advise an early reservation. All changes to the programme will be noted on the Atlantic Express website”. http://www.atlanticexpress.co.uk
