Proposals to clarify the status of students who undertake work experience

13 October 2006

Senator Paul Routier, the Minister for Social Security is to take proposals to the States to amend the Employers’ Liability Compulsory Insurance Law and introduce new Regulations under the Health and Safety at Work Law.

The proposals will have the effect of clarifying the status of students who undertake work experience, to ensure that they have the same protection as employees under the Health and Safety at Work Law and, for insurance purposes, the Employers’ Liability Compulsory Insurance Law.
