Springfield Gyratory Finished Ahead Of Time

17 November 2006

Working day and night, Ronez Ltd has laid over a 1000 tonnes of asphalt and replaced 9,000 m2 of road surfacing in just 5 weeks to finish Springfield Gyratory and St Saviour’s Hill resurfacing works 2 weeks early. Detailed planning by Transport and Technical Services’ Engineers in close liaison with Ronez, allowed these potentially highly disruptive works to be completed smoothly with the minimum of delay to the 12,000 vehicles using the route daily.

Guy de Faye, Minister for Transport and Technical Services, said "Exhaustive planning of the traffic management was critical to the success of this project and it is this aspect of road works that I intend to concentrate on improving in Jersey."

"I would like to thank my Officers and Ronez for their efforts in ensuring the project went to plan, I would also like to give my personal thanks to all those affected by these essential works for their kind understanding and patience, particularly those residents unavoidably disturbed by the evening works".
