2007 Jersey Undergraduate Internship Launch

04 April 2007

The 2007 Jersey Undergraduate Internship will be launched on Thursday 5 April at the Pomme d’Or Hotel by the Minister for Economic Development, Senator Philip Ozouf. The event will take place between 1 and 2pm.

The initiative gives undergraduates an insight into career opportunities in Jersey and the opportunity to work in meaningful, paid placements to develop skills in the work place. It introduces organisations to a source of high calibre, potential employees.

Devised and supported by Economic Development, the programme which was piloted successfully in 2006, runs throughout the summer.

At the launch invited registered employees and participating undergraduates will be able to meet and find out more about each other, as well as gain a better understanding of the scheme.

Senator Ozouf said “Last year the scheme successfully placed 56 undergraduates in 47 organisations; this summer we aim to place at least 100 undergraduates in both public and private sector organisations.”
