Goose Green Development

04 September 2007

A roadside diseased tree is to be removed.  (04.09.07)

The Minister for Planning and Environment has signed tree preservation orders relating to a number of trees at Goose Green. However one diseased tree on the roadside needs to be removed. Other work on thinning and the removal of other diseased trees began after the bird nesting season had finished, with advice from Durrell.

The removal work is now complete, except for the last remaining diseased tree, which is due to be felled shortly. Because the tree is located immediately on the roadside the contractor will be working closely with the Transport & Technical Services and the Parish of St Lawrence to minimise disruption to traffic and to ensure that appropriate safety measures are implemented.

The Minister will require the developer to replace the diseased trees with appropriate species.
