Invitation to Attend Workshop on Transport Issues

26 February 2007

The Transport and Technical Services Department (TTS) is holding a workshop on Saturday 10 March to find out what people think about the proposals put forward in the Integrated Travel and Transport Plan, which is currently out to consultation. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to ring the Department on 448203 by Wednesday 28 February.

“We are keen to hear what people think of our proposals for the future of travel and transportation in Jersey ,” said Guy de Faye , Minister for Transport and Technical Services. “Although the public can write into us with their comments, it would be very useful for us to discuss various issues face to face with a representative group of people. These types of workshops are usually quite enjoyable for participants, so I hope the public will be willing to invest three hours of their time to help us make travel and transport better for the future. We’d also like to remind people that this is their opportunity to take part in decision making.”

Consultation documents are available from various places including parish halls, the Customer Service Centre at Cyril Le Marquand House, the TTS offices at South Hill and Sand Street Car Park and are also available on the States website www.gov.je. The closing date for written responses is Friday 9 March.

Once the feedback from the public has been reviewed, the Integrated Travel and Transport Plan will be finalised and will be debated by the States later in the year.
