Good progress on meeting objectives of States Strategic Plan

13 September 2007

In his latest update to States members, the Chief Minister reports excellent progress on implementing the raft of initiatives set out in the Strategic Plan.

As at 30 June 2007, 83 per cent of the 249 initiatives are ‘on track’ (green), with 13 per cent ‘slightly behind schedule’ (amber) and only 4 per cent ‘seriously off track’ (red).

Chief Minister, Senator Frank Walker, comments: ‘The Council of Ministers set very challenging targets at the outset, so it is very good news that over 80 per cent of initiatives are on track. However, 18 months into the Strategic Plan it is inevitable that, given the number of projects involved, some will slip against the timetable. All slippages are being carefully monitored with the aim of getting them back on track as soon as possible. The strategic plan is an active document, so it is also the case that priorities will change. Overall, real progress is being achieved through excellent work both within and across States departments.’
